This kids’ science-fiction series from the BBC revolved around a 3,000-year-old teenage alien named Watt (Garth Napier Jones) with back-to-front ears, who is on the run from his uncle (voiced by Michael Kilgarriff) and being hunted by another alien, Jemadah.

Watt turns up in Haxton at the home of Sean Ruddock (Tom Brodie), who becomes his friend, protector and advisor in the ways of Earth.

Sean’s father (Simon Cook) is a printer who produces a free newspaper called the Haxton Weekly.

Watt and Jemadah can alter their appearance via a process Watt calls transanimateobjectification. Jemadah changes into other people, and Watt changes into various objects (which always have minor flaws – such as a teapot with two spouts or a clock with backwards numbers).
