In 1356 (during the Hundred Years’ War), France is occupied by English forces, and the ruthless Black Prince rules the land with an iron fist.

Thierry of Janville (Jean-Claude Drouot) is a young noble loyal to the French King John. When his conniving steward, Florent (Jean-Claude Deret), betrays him, Thierry is stripped of his lands, his title, and his freedom.

After a daring escape, he retreats into the Sologne forest, adopts the outlaw name Thierry la Fronde (“Thierry the Sling”) due to his unmatched skill with a sling weapon, and forms a band of loyal rebel companions to fight undercover – as a French Robin Hood – against the occupying English forces.

The series was aired in Canada on the CBC series Razzle Dazzle, dubbed into English with episodes sliced into five-minute daily chapters. The dubbed version also aired in Australia.

Broadcast in some markets as The King’s Outlaw.
