Skinheads (1989) – Nostalgia Central

A gang of neo-Nazi white supremacist skinheads – led by a guy named Damon (Brian Brophy) – are on the run from the police after committing a series of brutal crimes in their hometown.

While trying to lay low in a rural area, they get into a fight at a roadside diner run by Martha (Barbara Bain, who only lasts about 10 minutes) in the Colorado mountains, which leads to murder.

When witnesses Amy (Liz Saga) and Jeff (Jason Culp) flee into the wilderness, the gang gives chase, intent on silencing them for good. Fortunately for the fleeing pair, they stumble upon Mr Huston (Chuck Connors) – a World War II veteran survivalist with no fondness for Nazis, of any kind.

Even as an exploitation flick, Skinheads is inept in every respect. The high point of the film catches the “actors” actually looking offscreen for directions and then launching into the scene.

Instead of blowing the meagre budget on real actors, director Greydon Clark (who also wrote and produced the film) earmarked the big bucks for the real bear that eats the crucified skinhead (no kidding).

But who doesn’t love watching a bunch of Nazi’s take a beating?

Released as Skinheads: The Second Coming of Hate in some markets.
