Mister Jerico (1970) – Nostalgia Central

This British crime comedy film, directed by Sidney Hayers and starring Patrick Macnee, was originally made for TV, but was released theatrically in the UK and some other territories.

Smooth conman Dudley Jerico (The Avengers star Patrick Macnee) plots to relieve corrupt millionaire Mr Rosso (Herbert Lom) of his legendary Gemini diamond, with the help of his girl-crazy American sidekick, Wally (Marty Allen).

His rival for the stone is Connie Stevens, in a variety of guises (she was dubbed by Nikki Van der Zyl as Claudine).

The film was shot extensively on location in Malta, which means plenty of fetching young girls in mini-skirts and bikinis.

The title song of the soundtrack (composed by George Martin and Don Black) is sung by Lulu.
