Created by Chris Carter, the mind behind The X-Files, this American crime-thriller and horror series followed Frank Black (Lance Henriksen), a retired FBI criminal profiler with a unique, quasi-clairvoyant “gift” to see into the minds of killers.
Frank had moved to Seattle with his wife, Catherine (Megan Gallagher) and daughter Jordan (Brittany Tiplady), seeking a quieter life after a mental breakdown.
He worked as a consultant for the secretive Millennium Group, an organisation of former law enforcement experts who believed the approaching year 2000 was tied to a rising global evil.
Significantly darker and more graphic than The X-Files, the show explored serial killers, occult conspiracies, and apocalyptic prophecies. After two seasons, the show ended with the world’s end.
And then Fox ordered a third season . . .
Rowing back from the apocalypse, season three found newly-widowed Black back at the FBI with a new partner, Emma Hollis (Klea Scott, pictured), working on a conspiracy theory so complicated that even X-Files fans scratched their heads.
When Millennium was cancelled, the story arc had to be wrapped up in a baffling crossover episode of The X-Files.
