Mark Wesley – Nostalgia Central

Born Martin Wesley Goble, Mark began his radio career at just 17 years old on the offshore pirate station Radio Essex in October 1965, presenting its very first broadcast.

Initially using the name “Mark West”, he moved to other prominent offshore pirate stations, including Radio 270 and Radio Scotland.

He permanently changed his broadcasting name to Mark Wesley when he joined Radio Northsea International (RNI) in 1970, because the station already had a DJ named Alan West.

Wesley joined the legendary Radio Luxembourg (208 Medium Wave) in May 1971 and became a major heartthrob and a massive draw for the station’s late-night listeners across the UK and Europe for ten years.

He left in 1981 and went on to work on local radio and Capital Gold before moving into television and radio production.

Wesley also began writing fast-paced action and thriller novels, including BanGk! (2015), Frack! (2017), Dead City Exit (2019), and The Half Life of Harry Figg (2024).
