Set in Los Angeles in the near future, this short-lived NBC series teamed brash, wise-cracking maverick cop Bobby Mann (David Andrews) with a voluptuous robot partner, Sgt. Eve Edison (Yancy Butler).

She was serious, logical, did things by the book, and tended to take everything literally.

It was the classic “odd couple” pairing, as the cynical, technophobic, old-school human detective and the highly advanced, emotionally evolving android worked together to solve municipal crimes.

Critics frequently compared the show unfavourably to Holmes & Yoyo, a failed 1970s comedy with an identical robot-cop premise.

Due to low ratings, NBC pulled the series after broadcasting only four episodes.

They burned off the remaining five episodes as summertime television filler later that year.
