Created by Johnnie Mortimer and Brian Cooke, Full House (not to be confused with the 1987 American sitcom of the same name starring John Stamos and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) revolved around two couples who decided to share a house.
The Hatfields – Paul (Christopher Strauli) and his wife Marsha (Sabina Franklyn, the daughter of the Schhh . . . you know who man, William Franklyn) – have been married for three years and are living with Paul’s mother. They are desperate for a place of their own. But there’s a snag . . . money.
Murray (Brian Capron) and Diana (Natalie Forbes, who played Lorraine Chase’s Swedish flatmate in The Other ‘Arf) – are in a similar predicament. Although they are unmarried, they also want their own place, but they can’t afford to buy on their own.
It seems like a good idea for the four to team up and get a joint mortgage.
Paul does things by the book and draws up a list of guidelines and rules to help the two couples “get along” together.
Everything else is done via his diary – and if an event is not recorded in his little black book, then it just doesn’t happen.
Murray and Diana eventually marry and – in the final series – the birth of a little McCoy is imminent.
