Fans Criticizes Aldi’s New Christmas Chocolate Box

Aldi is stocking up their shelves with a new chocolate variant ahead of the holidays, and while some fans love it, others think it is out of line. The fan-favorite Easter eggs chocolate is getting a twist to create the Chreaster egg, which customers can indulge in to celebrate Christmas.

Critics have gone as far as calling the soon-to-be-released eggs “cursed,” adding that Christmas celebrated Jesus’ birth and Easter his death; hence, both holidays must not be combined. Others are simply excited to have more Aldi chocolate regardless of whatever designs they come in.

What chocolate can customers look forward to this Christmas at Aldi?

Customers can enjoy the festive treat in two forms: Garry the Gingerbread Man or Parker the Penguin. Either of the Dairyfine Hollow Character eggs costs £1.99 and promises the delicious chocolate experience fans know Aldi for.

The Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said the idea is here to stay as the company is committed to finding more fun and creative ways to update their Christmas offerings. The budget retail shop considers their latest offering to be the perfect stocking filler as they encourage people to treat their friends and family to some.

Reactions to Aldi’s ‘Chreaster’ eggs

The announcement from Aldi about their Christmas-Easter combo has got people talking online as they share their varying opinions about the idea. “Penguins aren’t even Christmassy, they’re from the South Pole!” someone exclaimed on X, protesting one of the chocolate variations.

Another claimed they were trying to save themselves the embarrassment of having unpurchased Easter eggs still on their shelves by Boxing Day, to which the official Aldi handle responded, “Embarrassment? None to speak of!” Another got in on the joke and asked about “Chreasterween” eggs, combining Christmas, Easter, and Halloween.
