Formed in Liverpool in 1961, the TT’s were originally known as The Tempest Tornadoes and served as the backing group for Faron (Bill Ruffley) before Earl Preston (real name George Spruce) joined as vocalist, and Faron left to form Faron’s Flamingos.
The band released the singles Hurt and Thumbin’ A Ride on the Oriole label and toured US air bases in France. In 1962, they also recorded contributions for the Oriole album This Is Mersey Beat at the Rialto Ballroom in Liverpool.
Their only chart success was sharing billing with Eden Kane on his hit, Boys Cry.
The group disbanded at the end of 1963. Earl put a new band together, called Earl Preston and the Realms.
