This low-budget Canadian/French/German co-production attempted to blend the conspiracy-driven paranoia of The X-Files with the stylised action of The Matrix, using late-1990s computer-generated graphics and practical fight choreography.
An alien soldier named Ethaniel (Cameron Bancroft) arrives on Earth from the planet Theron to find his older brother, Thorber, who was sent to Earth years ago to conduct benevolent research with a colleague named Banning (Andrew Gillies).
When Thorber discovered that Banning was actually evil, he sent a last message to Theron warning that Banning had hatched a scheme to use quantum-shift technology to change the Earth’s axis and turn it into an atmospheric copy of Theron, wiping out all human life.
Ethaniel and a team of soldiers head to Earth to exterminate Banning, but their spaceship crashes. Ethaniel survives, but his memory is erased.
In human form, Ethaniel befriends psychiatrist Dr Laura Keating (Ingrid Kavelaars), who helps him regain his identity and learn the strange ways of humans.
Posing as a wealthy human tech billionaire, David Banning is now running The Eternity Group, a powerful multinational research foundation on Earth.
At his disposal is Dent (Gordon Currie), a shape-shifting android which can morph to look like other humans (pictured).
Throughout the single season, Ethaniel and Laura live as fugitives on the run, crossing the country to sabotage Banning’s hidden labs and terraforming experiments – assisted by their quirky conspiracy-theorist friend, Byder (Joseph Baldwin).
The show was filmed entirely on location in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. To maintain its budget, it heavily utilized mundane urban structures like parking garages, warehouses, and office buildings.
