Despite its title, this early ATV music series featured very little authentic jazz, focusing instead on the big-band style with a rotation of mainstream pop singers crooning jazz standards.

Featured musical guests included Billy Fury, Petula Clark, Emile Ford and The Checkmates, The Dallas Boys, Frank Ifield, Clinton Ford, Barbara McNair, Marty Wilde, Joe Brown and The Bruvvers, Jimmy Justice, Susan Maughan, Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen, Cleo Laine, Jackie Trent, Buddy Greco, Roger Whittaker, The Karl Denver Trio, The Ronnie Scott Quartet, The Ray Ellington Quartet, and Humphrey Lyttelton and his Band.

The musical backing and orchestration for the series were provided by Jack Parnell and his Orchestra.

The series was filmed in Studio D at ATV’s Elstree Studios.
