This anthology television series was produced by Waratah Films, a short-lived company that emerged from an unsuccessful attempt to secure a third commercial television licence in Australia.

The series was actually produced in 1963, but was not shown on television until 1965, airing on Channel Ten on Friday nights at 7.30 pm. It was not seen in Melbourne until 1968.

The series featured stories about buffalo hunters, cannibal tribes, people smugglers, nuns, gangsters, and a coast watcher (played by Fred Parslow) who saved the life of John F Kennedy and his crew when their boat PT 109 was sunk by a Japanese destroyer during World War II.

Half of the episodes were filmed in Papua New Guinea (which was an Australian colony until 1975). The series was shot on film with overseas sales in mind.

Actors who appeared in the ten episodes included Chips Rafferty, Leonard Teale, Reg Livermore, Gwen Plumb, Tom Oliver, Carmen Duncan and Jeanie Drynan.
