Dr Greg Corwin (John Horton) first appeared on Sunday 5 October 1969, in a five-episode CBC-TV miniseries, when the young Toronto medico was straight out of two years as a resident psychiatrist in a mental hospital and slightly unsure of himself.

He had left that job to go and work for old-time general practitioner “Doc” Russ James (Alan King). The third regular in the episodes was Doc James’ office nurse, Mac (Ruth Springford).

When he returned in seven new episodes in 1970, Corwin had matured and lost his awkwardness.

The series was created and written by Sandy Stern, a Toronto doctor-turned-writer who contributed episodes to Wojeck

Guest star Ed Begley died shortly after he finished taping his role in the opening episode (Who Is The Fat Cat?) of the 1970 series.
