Debuting on 22 April 1974, this Thames Television comedy series revolved around the trials and tribulations of a forgetful, and sometimes confusing, door-to-door brush salesman (Worth).

Harry lived in rented accommodation with his widowed landlady, Mrs Maybury (Lally Bowers).

Guest stars included Glyn Houston, Peter Jones, Sally Geeson, Bill Treacher, and John Lyons.

While Harry Worth’s humour was out of step with the modern vogue, the short-lived series still performed respectably in ITV’s prestigious Monday night 8.00 pm timeslot.

Only one series was produced, and Harry stayed away from the small screen for the next four years, resurfacing in the 1979 Yorkshire Television sitcom How’s Your Father?
