The families of Queen Maeve (Charlotte Bradley) and King Conchobar (Stephen Brennan) have historically ruled the mystic island of Terma.

Maeve’s thirst for power, however, causes her to form an alliance with Mider (Ned Dennehy), a dark fairy, to gain the abilities of a sorceress. Maeve believes the rule of the land is her birthright, and now no one will be able to stop her.

Conchobar is about to give up the battle when fate intervenes. Rohan (Lochlann O’Mearáin), a young warrior, finds an ancient Terma scroll that speaks of Draganta, a warrior who is destined to bring peace to Terma. When Rohan notices that the birthmark on his arm matches that of the mark on the scroll, he realises he is the chosen one.

To fulfil his destiny, he must find Draganta, whose whereabouts are contained in four mysterious scrolls. Rohan is not alone in his journey. He is joined by his friend, Angus (Vincent Walsh); the king’s daughter, Princess Deirdra (Lisa Dwan); a prince named Ivar (Justin Pierre); and Cathbad (Barry Cassin), a druid who becomes their guide.

Cathbad’s first instincts lead them to a land of little people called Tir Na Nog. Here, the king endows each member of the team with the power to become the Mystic Knights of Tri Na Nog. Rohan is the Mystic Knight of Fire; Deirdra is the Mystic Knight of Air; Angus is the Mystic Knight of the Earth; Ivar is the Mystic Knight of Water.

In later episodes, a young warrior named Garrett (Ben Palmer) joins them and becomes the Mystic Knight of the Forests.

Stories follow the Mystic Knights as they search for Draganta while battling Queen Maeve, who is determined to stop them by conjuring up mythical beasts to destroy them.
